Paddleboarding at Weeki Wachee Springs

About 2 hours away from Orlando, weeki wachee is a gorgeous spring with several options for paddleboarding or kayaking. The easiest way is to leave from the Boating in Florida ramp where you keep left at every turn. There’s a $6 launch fee and $5 if you want to take the shuttle back to your car. It’s about a 5 mile paddle downstream, but the way back would be upstream and much more difficult, so the shuttle is a good option. Don’t have your own board or kayak? You can rent one there.  Rogers park is another option for a boat ramp if you have your own vessel, but it’s a longer paddle at 12 miles. The springs have small beaches off to the side to pullover. The trees and shrubbery look like they are out of a fairytale. The water is crystal clear. Perfect for spotting fish and other wildlife. We were hoping to see a manatee but didn’t catch one this time. This place was one of the clearest paddles I’ve done. The people at the other side were super helpful helping us off the ramp and with our stuff. Overall great summer day! ā˜€ļø
